Jamar represents clients in a variety of legal matters in both New York state and federal court. His practice focuses on complex commercial and business litigation, transportation litigation, employment discrimination & civil rights litigation, toxic torts, and municipal law.

Prior to joining LCBF, Jamar served over three years as an Assistant District Attorney at the New York County District Attorney’s Office. In that role, he managed over 300 misdemeanor and felony cases from inception to disposition, presented dozens of cases to a Grand Jury, and prevailed in most of the trials in which he sat first, and only, chair.

Jamar is a member of the New York City Bar Association and the New York Inn of Court. He is also a member of Independent Royal Arch Lodge No. 2, the Lincoln Center Young Patrons, and the Navy Reserve Judge Advocate General Corps. As a Navy JAG, Jamar is a member of the Trial Department at the Region Legal Service Office, Naval District Washington in Washington, D.C., where he provides litigation support in research, motion writing, case strategy & analysis, and the prosecution of criminal trials.

While in law school, he served as the Executive Editor for the Tulane Law School Journal of International and Comparative Law, earned a certificate in International and Comparative Law, and received the Tulane University Student Crest Award for Service and Leadership. He spent his summers interning for the Honorable Judge Nannette Jolivette Brown in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the United States Attorney’s Office – Civil Division in the Southern District of Texas, Idea Village, a New Orleans-based startup incubator, and the Time Inc. Law Department in New York City.

Jamar owns to two Sport Retrievers and is an avid fan of the performing arts.
