Nakia represents clients in a wide range of civil litigation matters in New York, including professional liability, employment, railroad and transportation, and matters arising under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act.
Prior to joining LCBF, Nakia clerked for the Honorable Paul Wooten, Associate Justice of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Department. While clerking, Nakia reviewed briefs and drafted opinions in a wide variety of civil and criminal matters.
Nakia received her degree from DePaul University College of Law in 2021. While in law school, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Carl A. Walker of the Illinois Appellate Court, First District. She also served as the Secretary of the Black Law Students Association and was a competing member of the Moot Court Board. Nakia now coaches DePaul students competing in the Thurgood Marshall Moot Court Competition.
Nakia graduated with a B.A. in History and Political Science from Rutgers University.
