Garrett Tracey is a seasoned attorney whose career is marked by trial excellence and strong leadership. He currently practices law with a focus on civil rights, municipal and constitutional law claims, transportation litigation and general litigation.
Prior to his role at LCBF, Garrett served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office. In his role as ADA, Garrett managed a substantial caseload from intake to disposition, including violent felony offenses. In that role he brought dozens of trials to verdict. His responsibilities included drafting and arguing pre-trial motions addressing Fourth and Fifth Amendment issues, ensuring compliance with New York State discovery requirements, reviewing criminal charging instruments, securing search warrants, and guiding law enforcement during investigations.
Garrett earned his Juris Doctorate from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. At CUA Law, he held leadership roles as Vice-Chair of the Washington Bar Association’s Law Student Division and President of the Black Law Students Association.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Howard University, where he served as Vice President of Finance for the Pre-Law Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.
Garrett’s prior legal experience extends to internships with the United States Attorney’s Office for D.C., the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, and roles within the Bronx County D.A.’s Conviction Integrity Unit, where he gained in-depth trial preparation and investigative skills. Known for meticulous preparation, persuasive advocacy, and a client-first approach, Garrett brings both expertise and genuine passion to every case he takes on.
