- Thomas J. Patania joined the firm as an associate in 2019. He represents clients throughout New Jersey and New York, and in several Federal Courts, with a focus on transportation, toxic tort, premises liability, and construction litigation. Thomas is dedicated to achieving the litigation goals of his clients and prides himself on his attention to detail in his written and oral advocacy. He is adept at efficiently and effectively resolving matters of all complexity and has most recently obtained several summary judgment dismissals in toxic tort cases venued in New York State court. Thomas earned his J.D., cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law.
- Rachel S. Rubenstein joined the firm as an associate in 2018. She represents clients throughout Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York courts with a focus on commercial and railroad litigation. An experienced and trusted litigator in all phases of a dispute, Rachel excels at developing flexible and creative litigation strategies to best position clients to achieve their desired outcomes, whether that’s early resolution or trial. Her attention to detail and in-depth understanding of procedural rules has led to a number of successes in pre-trial motion practice, including decisions granting motions to dismiss and for summary judgment, applying favorable state law in federal court, and excluding opposing experts. Rachel earned her J.D., cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
- Fabiola Vieites joined the firm as an associate in 2021. She represents clients throughout New Jersey, and New York courts with a focus on transportation, long-term care, premises liability, and professional liability litigation. She is adept at conducting effective pre-suit investigations, with an aim towards early, cost-effective, and reasonable resolution. Her diligence has resulted in consistent successful outcomes for clients through settlement and dispositive motions. Fabiola earned her J.D. from Rutgers Law School.
Matthew P. Moccia and Daniel Tarolli were promoted to members from the New York office.
- Matthew P. Moccia joined the firm as an associate in 2022. He represents clients throughout New York state and federal courts with a focus on mass torts, commercial litigation, and professional liability litigation. Matthew is attentive and responsive to his clients and has achieved successful outcomes for his clients through every stage of litigation ranging from dispositive motions and favorable results at bench trials and arbitrations. Matthew earned his J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School.
- Dan Tarolli joined the firm as an associate in 2022. He represents clients throughout New York State courts with a focus on transportation, employment, and professional liability litigations. In his time at LCBF, Dan has obtained summary judgment on behalf of numerous clients in contentious employment discrimination and civil rights matters. He has also successfully defended clients in federal administrative agency appeals and appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Daniel earned his J.D. from University of North Carolina School of Law.
Velika A. Nespor and Matthew P. Strauskulage were promoted to members from the Pennsylvania office.
- Velika A. Nespor joined the firm as an associate in 2020. She represents clients throughout Connecticut and Pennsylvania courts with a focus on long-term care, professional liability, and products liability litigation. During her tenure at LCBF, Velika obtained a total defense verdict for a big-box realtor in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, obtained summary judgment for many clients, and successfully transferred cases from lower courts in Pennsylvania to binding arbitration. She has also been selected by her peers for inclusion in the “2026 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch” list in the area of medical malpractice. Velika earned her J.D. from George Washington University School of Law.
- Matthew P. Strauskulage first joined the firm as an associate in 2018. He represents clients throughout New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania courts with a focus on labor and employment counseling and litigation, FELA, and transportation litigation matters. He also has extensive experience defending complex whistleblower claims in administrative law courts around the country. Matthew earned his J.D. from Drexel University Law School.
