James represents a wide range of clients in New York federal and state court, including civil rights, employment discrimination, labor law, Legionnaires' disease, railroad, toxic tort, dental malpractice and general litigation matters.

Before joining LCBF, James was an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Office of the Corporation Counsel of the City of New York. He practiced in the Special Federal Litigation Division, where he served as lead counsel for over 100 federal cases venued in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York regarding Section 1983 civil rights claims.  James tried three federal civil trials to verdict before Judges Jack B. Weinstein, Paul A. Crotty and Gregory H. Woods.

James graduated cum laude from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was awarded a full tuition merit scholarship and a concentration in litigation. He was a member of the Moot Court Honors Society, a teaching assistant, and a research assistant to Professor Peter Markowitz.
